Businesses across the South East Midlands can have over 12 hours of specialist, free business support from a trained adviser through a project run by Velocity Growth Hub.

Talking to a Velocity business adviser early when thinking through your growth ideas, means you get specialist information from the start so you can cut through the noise, focus on your goals and identify the most relevant support for you and your business development.

There’s a plethora of free sector or growth-specific business support packages out there  – offering advice, training and grants – each with their own eligibility criteria. This can make getting to the one that’s right for you complex and often time consuming. But, when you do get the right business support, you can expand faster and more effectively.

Enrolling with Velocity Growth Hub will give you access to the 1-to-1 advice and support you need to do this. Whether you want to check and challenge your business plans, get information to grow your exports or, get financial support to develop your marketing, your business adviser can help you through the steps and get you the right contacts.

Through the Growth Hub’s project, you will also have access to fully-funded skills workshops and a grant programme available to businesses committed to expanding and growing local jobs.

The next set of business growth workshops are now available. We have over 10 skills development topics including:

• Specialist advice on funding options, run in collaboration with the British Business Bank, covering debt and equity finance, and what you need to do to get investment-ready.
• Training on pitching for new business, how to best prepare, tailor your message and evidence your USP.
• Digital strategy – workshops on website and SEO and social media and email marketing, covering how to create value, knowing your customer journey, best practice and the law.
