Customs formalities are a major part of international trade i.e. all goods that leave, enter or transit through a country are subject to customs clearance procedures. The UK leaves the EU Customs Union at the end of the year, and Customs requirements for businesses trading with EU member states will increase significantly from the 1st January 2021.

Join Andrea Collins of The Export Department as she covers the essentials of customs declarations and duties to help ensure that you can continue to export and import without unexpected costs or delays. Andrea will be exploring:

  • key customs documentation requirements in sample scenarios
  • key processes involved in customs clearance
  • how to correctly use tariff codes to find out what duties apply
  • how to correctly value your imports for Customs purposes
  • how ‘Country of Origin’ rules work
  • the potential impact on your business of non-compliance
