Learning with the best local businesses

16 July 2018

Peer to peer learning from the best (of the best) is what makes the local business network buzz. It has the potential to catapult your business success and there’s no shortage of incredibly successful and entrepreneurial business people for you to learn from in our area.

Helping business owners and staff to develop skills is an integral part of the business support on offer from Velocity Growth Hub.  Business skills workshops provide a great opportunity to learn from each other in areas that matter most to your business, whilst also getting the expertise, tools and techniques from the best business-to-business trainers.

Starting now until November, Velocity Growth Hub has brought together local business owners and trainers in a programme of new, fully-funded business skills workshops that combine local business knowledge and expert training to give you the best client experience.

The ‘Speed up your business success’ series is three bespoke workshops, run in conjunction with NatWest.  You’ll benefit by learning about the sources of practical support, grant funding, and resources freely available to you, right through to a deep-dive in business planning and delivering effective growth. For this series, we bring together Graeme Laws, First Ascent, expert in the applying the Business Model Canvas with executive coach and First Ascent’s managing director David Sales, and our business advisers Luke Faulkner and Heather Martin.

Also new this Autumn, you’ll make sure that your business innovation is recognised and can get the full range of government funding available in workshops, ‘It Pays to Innovate’, led by Richard Thompson and Annie Hunter from GovGrant.co.uk.

‘How to find your brand voice’ led by wordsmith Beth Joy, helps passionate business people with big ideas like you to find the words they need. The face behind the Business Buzz, networking  extraordinaire, Katrina Sargent leads workshops on Effective Networking Skills.

Well known to Velocity clients, creative marketer and experienced trainer Justin Jackson is back with his full range of workshops and masterclasses in marketing strategy and social media, and with new ideas on Cloud Apps and more.

And we have more on IT infrastructure and Cyber Security with GDPR and Cyber Security, led by Wellingborough-based Arkish Patel, from CyberLab Security and Cyber Security and Disaster Recovery, led by Reuben Leach at PCS-Systems, from Kettering.

Velocity’s own award-winning coach Jacqueline Day is hosting her Modelling Success for your Business Masterclass which has already taken over 60 local business owners through their paces so far. And, later in the year we have more to come on Business Finance Masterclasses, in collaboration with the British Business Bank, private investors and business finance experts – with Velocity’s James Stancombe.

There’s an action-packed workshops programme for you to take advantage of. The Growth Hub also have something brand new coming later in the year (so watch this space).  This is the last series of business workshops part-funded through Velocity’s ERDF project, so don’t miss out on this opportunity to enhance your business skills for free.
