Milton Keynes Cost of Living Support - The South East Midlands Growth Hub

Price rises are affecting businesses, but there are plenty of things you can do to help manage this. A wide range of different resources and programmes are already available to help you reduce costs, increase the efficiency of your business and boost your resilience, as well as helping you maintain the mental and physical wellbeing of yourself and your staff members.

Building Resilience

There is a range of business support available to businesses in Milton Keynes to help them build resilience and allow them to growth and thrive in the current challenging environment. These include:

Energy Bill Discount Scheme for non-domestic customers

The EBDS will launch on 1st April 2023 for 12 months to 31st March 2024. It will follow on from the Energy Bill Relief Scheme currently in place and running until 31st March 2023.

As with the original scheme, the new scheme will be available to everyone on a non-domestic contract including:

businesses
voluntary sector organisations, such as charities
public sector organisations such as schools, hospitals, and care homes

who are:

on existing fixed price contracts that were agreed on or after 1 December 2021
signing new fixed price contracts
on deemed / out of contract or standard variable tariffs
on flexible purchase or similar contracts
on variable ‘Day Ahead Index’ (DAI) tariffs (Northern Ireland scheme only)

Energy Bill Relief Scheme

This scheme from the UK Government will provide energy bill relief for non-domestic customers in Great Britain. Discounts will be applied to energy usage initially between 1 October 2022 and 31 March 2023.
