New SEMLEP Programme to Help Shape the Future Workforce for the South East Midlands

16 February 2016

SEMLEP is delighted to announce a new Careers and Enterprise Programme, which is the first of its kind across the South East Midlands and part of a national initiative, set up to inspire and prepare young people for the fast-changing world of work by linking senior business people with schools and colleges.

The aim is to link businesses and schools so that young people can gain a better understanding of growth sectors, develop relevant skills and have access to the same opportunities, networks and work inspiration activities.

Are you a local business leader who would like to be involved and can volunteer some of your time to work closely with the senior management team in a local secondary school or college?

SEMLEP are looking to recruit 40 Enterprise Advisers from businesses across the SEMLEP area. Each Adviser will be matched to a school and will receive full training and support from SEMLEP’s Enterprise Coordinators.

If this sounds like you – contact SEMLEP’s Enterprise Coordinators, Catherine or Paul, on 01234 436100 or email [email protected] / [email protected]

This is an excellent opportunity for businesses to play an important role in shaping the future workforce for the South East Midlands.
