Are you looking to grow your business? The Scale-up Index shines a spotlight on the scale-up landscape. Scale-up businesses are growing, or have the potential to grow, by more than 20% in employees or turnover. The Index shows a reality that, whilst the South East Midlands area is very successful in business start-ups, we are a cold spot for business scale-ups. SEMLEP’s Growth Hub is working to identify what we need to do to support potential scale-up businesses to turn our cold-spot into a hot-spot. We already work with a number of partners to provide business support and focused workshops on access to finance. There are more to follow. We are also developing the Local Industrial Strategy for the area which will focus in on what we need to do to promote strong economic growth in our key sectors, in which scale-up businesses are an important cohort.
For those businesses who are ‘planning to grow’, we’re hosting a workshop to introduce various growth strategies, discuss how they apply to SMEs, and look a their advantages and disadvantages. It uses a number of scale-up case studies to illustrate the wide range of considerations.
Enrol on this workshop and you’ll leave with practical knowledge of how to: apply the Ansoff matrix in the SME space, extend your brand reach, better appreciate the role of the customer in innovation, understand mergers and, recognise the demands of scaling-up.
