Revenue Grant helps PCL Corporatewear become more profitable

26 March 2018

PCL Corporatewear received a £2,300 Velocity Revenue Grant. The grant help’s them purchase a new printer that enables them to carry out orders quicker. The grant, delivered by Buckinghamshire Business First on behalf of the Velocity Growth Hub, will help the Aylesbury-based specialists in corporate clothing and work uniforms keep more work in-house, saving time and costs and increasing profitability.

What were the benefits of the grant?

Jane Campbell, Managing Director of PCL Corporatewear and one of Buckinghamshire’s Growth Champions, was clear as to the benefits of the grant: “With the help of the Velocity Revenue Grant we purchased a new Roland printer. The printer enables us to do so much, including carrying out heat transfers of graphics onto clothing. We were previously unable to carry this out ourselves and had to outsource this process. Now we can carry out orders including heat transfers as and when they come in. This has cut down on the waiting time for finished garments and allowed us to strengthen our in-house service to our customers.”

What was the grant process?

Not only did the grant provide a boost to PCL Corporatewear, thanks to the help of Buckinghamshire Business First’s business support team it didn’t take too much time and effort to obtain the grant in the first place. “The grant process was very straightforward. The business support team were a great help. Buckingham Business First, proofread the forms to ensure everything was correct before I submitted them. Once the claim had been submitted, the money came through the next week. As a growing SME, the support from Buckinghamshire Business First has been amazing.”

Whats happening within the business now?

Jane Campbell has been named Business Leader of the Year at the Buckinghamshire Business Awards 2017. Rachel Tayler of PCL Corporatewear speaks about what it meant to the team to see Jane honoured: “Jane wasn’t told about her nomination until she had been selected as a finalist. It was a very exciting time for the business and everyone wanted to be there on the night to support her. When she was announced as the winner, we couldn’t have been more proud. Her unique leadership skills have formed a growing, successful business which is a great place to work – and this award is a testimony to that.”

PCL Corporatewear has been busy growing its list of clients, which include Rolls Royce and Harrods. And with their new website bringing in lots of new customers, the present and future are bright.
