‘Standing still is not an option’

29 July 2014

Whether you’re a start-up or an established multi-million pound company there are always lessons to be learned to keep you ahead of the game and give your firm the edge over your rivals.

This September it’s not just children going back to school. Business owners across the South East Midlands are being invited back into the classroom to refresh their skills and help themselves grow.

Velocity is launching a programme of 58 free half-day training courses taking place from September right through to June 2015.

Aimed at owners and directors of businesses, finance managers, senior members of staff and marketing managers, courses will focus on a range of topics including new ways to finance growth, growing sales faster and successfully managing investors, as well as sessions on digital marketing, negotiation and new product development.

As business advisers we are meeting dozens of companies every week and the workshops will cover the areas that keep cropping up in conversation as subjects firms would like to know more about, or at least bring their current working knowledge of an area up to date.

I’m a big believer in giving you and your business the best possible chance of success by arming yourself with as much information and as many skills as possible to give you an edge over your competitors. These workshops do just that.

It’s all about continual growth, growth that is well planned, structured and managed. Standing still and resting on your laurels, doing the same things you’ve been doing for years, is not an option.

Companies that have spent the last few years tightening their belts are now sharpening up their game ready for the next phase of growth. They are learning, they are picking up new skills and they are looking to get bigger and better. It’s imperative you don’t get left behind.

Workshops will include sessions on subjects such as ‘Digital Marketing: Driving Traffic to your Website’, ‘Plan Your Product Pipeline’ and ‘Attracting and Managing Investors’.

Each workshop is offered completely free of charge and will run from 9am until 12pm. Demand is expected to be high so early booking is recommended.

To book a place on one of the courses, and there is no limit on the number of courses you can attend, please call 0300 01234 35.
